Pubali Datta's research focuses on securing emerging computing platforms. She studies how layers of abstraction in large distributed systems--cloud and serverless architectures, Internet of Things, and threat-intelligence frameworks--create new security problems, and how to defend them with information-flow analysis, auditing, and policy analysis. Recent work includes serverless application hardening, endpoint security, censorship circumvention using serverless functions, and how international students are targeted by online scams.
Pubali Datta is an Assistant Professor in the Manning College of Information and Computer Sciences at UMass Amherst. She received her Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
