Weibo Gong has worked on internet congestion control, wireless network security and communication security, and bio-plausible algorithms for artificial general intelligence, including concept abstraction without an external coordinate system. He directs the Complex Systems Modeling and Control Laboratory. He is a University Distinguished Professor of ECE and an IEEE Fellow.
Weibo Gong is a University Distinguished Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at UMass Amherst. He received S.M. (1985) and Ph.D. (1987) degrees in Engineering Sciences from Harvard. He is an IEEE Fellow (1999) and received the IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control George Axelby Outstanding Paper Award.
